Bronxville Senior Citizens is an active, vital community made up of men and women, 55 years of age and older, who gather Tuesdays and Thursdays from September until June at The Reformed Church of Bronxville. Members enjoy a wide range of activities including every week bridge classes, exercise and Tai Chi, as well as weekly lectures and courses on topics of particular interest: health, legal issues, history, music, culture, crafts, politics, art, literature, film, dancing, Zumba Gold and more. All these programs are included in the yearly membership fee. Monthly luncheons and day trips are offered for an additional fee. A variety of health screenings are offered, as are yearly free flu shots, sponsored by The Community Fund and Lawrence Hospital.
The center serves primarily those in the 10707, 10708 and 10709 zip codes, but membership is open to all who consider Bronxville their community; including some who live nearby in Yonkers or Mt Vernon.
Many of our members are dedicated community volunteers, either at local schools, churches or hospitals, and our organization offers our members opportunities to continue to serve others through various community service projects.
Referrals to important services for older adults are provided by a professional director, who has a growing list of trusted partners around Southern Westchester, who can help our members age in place where appropriate, as well as discussing other options as necessary.
